Let’s be practical here, working from home isn’t for everyone.  But there are a number of us out there and everyday that number is growing.  Because of the economy or in spite of it more and more of us are looking to make money by using our smarts and skills to work online from home.  The trouble is that there are thousands it seems of work from home scams.  I have done some research and I have found another 10 legitimate telecommuting jobs that may interest you.

I have spent the past week searching for legitimate work online from home jobs.  You will notice that some of these offer their salary and benefits along with the description.  These are all great opportunities I believe and all are real, not scams.  If you come across a scam please leave a comment below.  I do spend some time trying to verify each of these but a scam may get through every once in a while.  Be sure to do your due diligence, don’t give away your vital information and don’t pay anyone to apply for a job or a booklet or website that offers jobs.

Just like the last list that I posted here some of these opportunities you can live anywhere and do the work.  Others however you must be in the vicinity to meet with your employer every once in a while.  Different jobs require different things and this is just the same for work online from home jobs.

Not all of the jobs are full-time. Some are part-time and this can be a great opportunity to try out something different in your career without going full tilt.  The full-time jobs usually show the salary and benefits, but the part-time don’t, because it will depend on how much work is required.  One thing you should think about if it is a part-time position is that if you are good at it and they see that they will be more willing to hire you full-time.

Steering Clear of Work from Home Job Scams

In the vast majority of cases, legitimate work at home jobs shouldn’t require that you pay anything for the privilege to run from home. There are a few legitimate exceptions where you may need to be a membership fee to belong to an independent network of work at home professionals or you may have to pay small amount for training or equipment. However, these should be the exception and not the rule when you are searching for legitimate work you can do from home.

You may find that some of the work from home jobs in my hand-picked list require you to register with a work from home job site. You may also have to pay a small membership fee with the work at home job site to have access to their listings and apply for a job. That’s usually because I couldn’t find the same listing somewhere else and the work at home job looked promising. When I find a work at home job that makes the list from one of these services it’s because I felt that service was also legitimate. It seems that the main problem is coming from those of us who weren’t eligible to receive the Full Stimulus Check or a no check at all (because they didn’t pay enough taxes mainly) and that would then qualify for a rebate credit when they file their 2008 tax return.

So, if you meet either of those conditions, you can’t claim the credit anyway and you’ve just lost your excuse to procrastinate in getting your 2008 federal tax return filed.

IRS Partners Offer Free Tax Help Nationwide

Nearly 12,000 free tax preparation sites will be open nationwide this year as the The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has expanded its partnerships with nonprofit and community organizations to provide tax preparation services for low-income and elderly taxpayers. The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program provides free tax help to those who earn less than $42,000. The Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) Program offers free tax help to taxpayers who are 60 and older.

Taxpayers need to bring to the VITA/TCE sites the following items:

• Photo identification
• Valid Social Security cards for the taxpayer, spouse and dependents
• Birth dates for primary, secondary and dependents on the tax return
• Current year’s tax package, if received
• Wage and earning statement(s) Form W-2, W-2G, 1099-R, from all employers
• Interest and dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099)
• A copy of last year’s federal and state returns, if available
• Bank routing numbers and account numbers for direct deposit
• Other relevant information about income and expenses
• Total paid for day care
• Day care provider’s identifying number

To file taxes electronically on a Married Filing Jointly tax return, both spouses must be present to sign the required forms.

Trained community volunteers can help eligible taxpayers with all special credits, such as the Child Tax Credit or Credit for the Elderly. Also, many sites have language specialists to assist people with limited English skills.

I hate to say it, but I would not put any money in the U.K.” Jim Rogers correctly predicted the start of the commodities rally in 1999. He also made a killing on the Crash of 1987.

Commonwealth Bank of Australia said there was a high risk of a cut to the country’s credit rating outlook and lowered its pound forecast. Prime Minister Gordon Brown authorized a 100 billion pound ($142 billion) bailout for banks.

The pound slid to 127.44 yen, the weakest since at least 1971, as of 2:23 p.m. in Tokyo from 130.71 yen yesterday in London, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. It declined 2 percent to $1.4133, the lowest since March 2002, and last traded at $1.4185. The currency slid 1.1 percent to 91.58 pence per euro.

Jim Rogers said the currency will fall below its record low of $1.0520 reached in February 1985. He believes that the U.K. debt is now greater than previously forecast due to the additional bailouts announced over the weekend and today.

Jim Rogers also said investors should be “worried” about the U.S. dollar, and recommended selling government bonds and buying raw materials, China stocks and the yen.

“If I were you, I would be worried about the U.S. dollar,” said Rogers, 66, in a speech at the Asia Financial Forum in Hong Kong today. “The Americans are printing U.S. dollars. The Americans are going to do whatever they can to revive their economy, even if it means destroying the U.S. dollar.”

Now is the time to make a killing shorting the UK Pound. With everyday news coming in on just how really bad the banks are in the United States and in Europe, it seems that the US Dollar and the U.K. Pound are going to be taking the brunt of the blow.
